Hairdresser with 15 years experience from London, New York, Paris, San Francisco

-Named by American Salon Magazine as 5, The New Breed, “David Lyle Jones, a former paralegal whose law firm put him through beauty school when he wanted a career change, Jones is something of a renaissance man. Besides having an unstintingly positive attitude he is not afraid of change. After a 48-hour visit to New York City, Jones returned to his San Francisco home, sold his two salons and moved to Manhattan to pursue new dimensions in his career” 1 The past 15 years, he has worked with some of the
best in the business from the beauty manufacturing side: Trevor Sorbie Intl., Conair, and Matrix as International Team Member, Artistic Director and Product Development Liaison, to the fashion and advertising side: Wilhelmina and Karen's modeling agencies, to doing and working with celebrities, models, and designers: Carolina Herrera
, Elaine Page, Gale Harold of Queer as Folk, Sonia Braga, Tyra Banks, Ricky Lake, Rita Moreno, Helen Gurley Brown, to Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Fahd of Saudi Arabia.

After being called away for a few years to Miami, he has settled back in NYC. Jones specializes in all types of hair. Nothing takes him by surprise. “Hair is my passion, making people feel good about how they look, is the best I can do, at the end of the day. “ Haircutting, styling, specialized baliage color techniques, hairdressing up-styles and Matrix Opti-smooth retexturizers are all parts of his repertoire.

An “unpretentious individual who gave me one of the best experiences I have had in a long time. He talked to me about my hair, asked me my expectations and truly listened to my concerns and truly made me feel comfortable. I have had a great many opportunities to have my hair done around the world and this stylist was up there with some of the best.”2

i had my hair hilighted by david lyle jones and it came out beautiful; everybody loved it. he was patient and didn't push me to cut my hair. he said i should let it grow another inch before shaping it. he used a baliage method for the hilights and it looks fresh and natural. the people who work there are so welcoming and do their best to make you comfortable. i highly recommend this place.

Pros: great skill and welcoming employees

I have had my hair cut and colored by David Lyle Jones several times now. I followed him to this great new location, in Chelsea on W19th which is so beautiful. His work is meticulous and detailed. He takes the time to do the job right. Part of his process is to fully explain what he is doing, and then does what he promises. I have never had my hair cut or colored so well - ever! And it lasts too..... He high-lighted my hair with a balliage/hair painting technique that is so natural, I get complements even to the point when Im going in to get them touched up.... unbelievable. Thank you again....

Pros: great work, and no attitude

Cons: none

I walked into this salon at the spur-of-the-moment. I needed to look great for a evening-out but didn't want to have to deal with that UES attitude, so I took a chance and did something I rarely never do, walked into a salon and took who was available. I have to say that my first impressions were mixed. Tucked away in the back was a seemingly unpretentious tattooed individual who gave me one of the best experiences I have had in a long time. He talked to me about my hair, asked me my expectations and truly listened to my concerns. He made suggestions of different possibilities and truly made me feel comfortable. I have to say I have had a great many opportunities to have my hair done around the world and this stylist was up there with some of the best. He took his time and gave me one of the best haircuts and blow-dry's I have ever had. I'm glad I took the risk because hidden in the back was a diamond-in-the-rough. I highly recommend this stylist to anyone who might ask....

Pros: best haircut and style ever

The atmosphere is amazing, the owner came and greeted me to make me feel welcome and everyone was just the best. This place is everything that one would want in a salon. I followed my stylist, David Lyle Jones, here. He has given me the best color and cuts that I have ever had. Most people claim to take their time but he does and produces the very best. I've seen him do other clients and everyone looks amazing. He has special signature cutting and baliage coloring techniques that makes him world class. Don't let his low key, comforting attitude fool you, because his cuts last and last. I have followed him from his previous salon and wouldn't let anyone else touch my hair.... I recommend him to those who truly care about their hair.... Thanks again David.

Pros: David Lyle Jones

Cons: Cant think of anything
